I specialise in international law and human rights, which means I’m just the right French translator for you.
I help foreign companies sell their products and services in France with compelling translations of their communication materials.
International Law / Human Rights / Corporate Communications
After 10+ years in the health and international relations sectors, I decided to change course in my career and return to a long-lost love of words and writing.
Since then, I’ve been helping my clients communicate in French with fluent, compelling, and well-written translations.
My writing skills are my best asset, and it’s your communication that benefits.
Thanks to my varied career path, I know that attention to detail and professionalism go a long way towards successful collaboration.
I dive deep into my areas of expertise, your business sector and its developments and key players.
My translations are always delivered on time and, when necessary, I ask questions ahead of time or suggest variants or edits upon delivery.
Who I am
My name is Nelia Fahloun and I work as a freelance translator in France. You may contact me in my capacity as the data controller of this website through my contact form.
Why I process your personal data
I collect, store and use your personal data solely to issue a quote, provide a translation or editing service that you request or to comply with legal requirements. Personal data collected may include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number and ID or tax number. I do not use your personal data for marketing purposes.
Legal grounds
The legal basis for processing your data is to perform the services you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request (“performance of a contract”). This basis also applies if you provide me with a service.
Who else receives your personal data
If I send a text for revision or editing to a colleague, I will inform you, and the text will be anonymised, so your personal data will not appear in it.
For administrative purposes, other parties, including my accountant and the providers of my website and email hosting services, may have access to your personal data. All these parties are compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation like me. My web hosting provider (Gandi) is based in France and my data backup provider (Tresorit), based in Switzerland and whose data centers are in the European Union, guarantees end-to-end encryption of data.
How long I keep your personal data
For quotes that do not lead to services, I delete all personal data after six months.
For services rendered, I keep personal data for five years to comply with tax obligations and, if it is embedded in a translation, for up to ten years to preserve the integrity of my personal translation resources.
For services received, I keep your personal data for five years for administrative purposes.
I delete email communications after five years.
Your data access rights
You may contact me at any time to request a copy, rectification or erasure of your personal data. I will take action without undue delay and in any event within one month of receipt of the request.
Your right to file a complaint
Should you have any concerns about how I process your personal data, please contact me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in France or in the country where you live.
There are no cookies on my website.
This Privacy Policy was drawn up in November 2019. I will review and update it when necessary.
