The Institute of Translation & Interpreting (ITI) was founded in 1986 as the only independent professional association of practising translators and interpreters in the United Kingdom. It now has over 3,500 members.


The American Translators Association (ATA) is a professional association founded to advance the translation and interpreting professions and foster the professional development of individual translators and interpreters. It has 11,000 members in more than 90 countries.


The Société française des traducteurs [French National Translators’ Association] is a professional trade union, committed to defending the interests of translators and interpreters and promoting translation as a profession in France. Created in 1947, SFT now has more than 1,500 members.


The Société française pour le droit international [French International Law Association] is a not-for-profit scholarly, which aims to promote the study and advancement of international law.


AITC (the International Association of Conference Translators) is the professional body representing translators, précis-writers, revisers and editors working on a temporary or permanent basis for international organizations or conferences.
